The musical group AMARUK (Quichuwa for Strength) was born with the purpose of reclaiming our culture, our music and to demonstrate to the world that our country (Ecuador) is multicultural. As one of the different indigenous cultures, we are THE SALASACA, and are gaining the attention of nationals and foreign tourists alike.
Our work is to create a variety of music, but always based on our ancestor's Andean folk music as well as dance. Our blend of Andean instruments with electric instruments results in a completely different style of music such as Andean Reggae, Andean rock, classic sanjuanitos (traditional Inty Raymy music) and others.

Our objective is to break down barriers through the music, since music has no borders. In this manner, we can share our Salasaca culture and traditions, ancestral dances and much more. The world of the Indigenous Salasaca is full of mysteries and it deserves to be known. Through music we can remember many of situations of our past, moments of happiness, of sadness, of pain, of love, of passion.
